We are currently in need of volunteers and new/more members for the park's Friends group, the Claytor Lake State Park Ambassadors. The Ambassadors help promote and support the park, raise money for projects, programs, and events that benefit park guests where the park often can't get funding, and Ambassadors sometimes volunteer at the park helping with projects, programs, events, and more. Please visit the Ambassadors website if you are interested in more information about the group or joining. http:// claytorlakespa.org/ If you join, you can also register as a Virginia State Park's volunteer so your volunteer time as an Ambassador counts towards loyalty point benefits that can be used for things like free parking passes, campsites, nights in a cabin, etc.
