Share about your career journey with Fresh Air Children by hosting a virtual Career Exploration workshop!
Virtual career exploration workshops are 50-minute interactive sessions that give our middle school students a chance to connect their interests to a future career. Volunteers will mentor a small group of students through a short career readiness lesson and project. During the virtual workshop, volunteers will:
Share about their own career journey with our students
Volunteers will give pointed advice to students including the education requirements, skills, internships, and experience needed for someone looking to get into your industry.
Engage in a skill sharing activity with the students
Volunteers will work with the students on a problem solving activity that will allow them to apply the critical thinking and other skills that you employ in your profession.
Lead interactive games
Volunteers will use fun games, trivia and questions to keep the workshop interactive and exciting!
Volunteers commit to one 50-minute virtual workshops that will be scheduled at your convenience and conducted between December - January. All career industries are welcome.
The Fund staff will help volunteers plan and prepare for this workshop. Workshops are scheduled at your convenience on weeknights Monday - Thursday from 5:30-6:30 pm.
