ORGANIZATION: The Fresh Air Fund

The Fresh Air Fund

Virtually mentor middle school students as they connect their interests to a future career!

Volunteers will mentor a small group of students through a short series of career readiness lessons and projects. During three 50-minute virtual workshops, volunteers will:

  • Share about their own career journey with our students
    • Volunteers will give pointed advice to students including the education requirements, skills, internships, and experience needed for someone looking to get into your industry.
  • Engage in a skill sharing activity with the students
    • Volunteers will work with the students on a problem solving activity over the course of the series. This activity will allow them to apply the critical thinking and other skills that you employ in your profession.
  • Lead interactive games
    • Volunteers will use fun games, trivia and questions to keep the workshop interactive and exciting!
Volunteers commit to 3 virtual workshops that will be scheduled at your convenience and conducted between December - January. All career industries are welcome.

The Fund staff will help volunteers plan and prepare for this workshop. Workshops are scheduled at your convenience on weeknights Monday - Thursday from 5:30-6:30 pm.
