Position Title: Volunteer Fundraising and Development Coordinator (Volunteer Position - Remote/Virtual)
Temporary Volunteer Position: December 1, 2020 to May 27, 2021

THIS IS A REMOTE/VIRTUAL VOLUNTEER POSITION
Two Days Per Week, 8 Hours Per Week
Wednesdays and Thursdays
1:30pm ET to 5:30 pm ET
Rate of Pay: None, This is a Volunteer Position
If enough funding is raised this position has potential to possibly become a part-time, salaried position.
At conclusion of a satisfactory 6-month volunteer contract term, a stipend of $120 USD may be provided towards cell phone and internet data usage.
Deadline: November 10, 2020 deadline preferred; Accepting applications until filled.

About the Organization:
Make It Balance Foundation is a New York Section 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. The organization's mission is to support small businesses, nonprofit organizations and families negatively impacted by pandemics, natural disasters and other events which may cause hardship.
Make It Balance Foundation’s 2020-2021 priority goals are to raise funding and provide programs to support:
- New York City small businesses and nonprofit organizations; priority will be provided to Black-owned small businesses in New York City
- Assist relief efforts for families with children on the island of Jamaica
Volunteer Fundraising and Development Coordinator Summary:
Under the direction of the Make It Balance Foundation President & Founder, the Volunteer Fundraising and Development Coordinator is responsible for researching, writing and securing funding for the start-up phase of our nonprofit organization via grants, sponsorships and donations. Fundraising goals are for operational support and to secure funds for organizational programs.
We are looking for a resourceful and charismatic fundraising and development specialist to volunteer eight hours per week to write and submit grants, organize fundraisers and source donors to raise money for our nonprofit organization.
Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely; you are required to utilize your own computer/laptop and cell phone
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Word and Excel is a MUST
- Experience with GMAIL is a MUST
- Experience working as part of a team with Google Suite is a MUST (Google Drive; Google Sheets and Google Docs, Google Forms, etc)
- Experience with successful grant writing is a MUST
- Experience securing funding for organizations is a MUST
- Experience with donor cultivation is a PLUS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a MUST
- Ability to work in a remote environment and communicate with prospective partners, sponsors or donors who have diverse personalities
- Experience working as part of a team
- Ability to plan initiatives in advance and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Very detail oriented and organized
- Quick learner
- Self-starter
- Solid writing skills
- MUST be fluent in the English language
