Covid- 19 has caused isolation for all of us. Our hospice patients and their families are especially at risk and suffering from a lack of connection. We are in need of individuals to become hospice volunteers who are willing to make phone or video call "visits" to patients and their families. A simple check-in of a friendly voice can make all the difference! Perhaps read a short story over the phone or read some jokes. If you have musical talents, you are encouraged to share them! These calls will connect the volunteer to patients/families in need of a friend.
Lindenwood Hospice & Palliative Care is looking for dedicated volunteers to provide companionship and socialization to hospice patients by phone during Covid 19 and hopefully volunteers will want to continue in person visits once safety measures have been established.
Must be a good listener. May involve chatting, hearing life stories, reading to a patient.
