Homestead Hospice provides comfort care to patients who are on life's most important journey. Being able to serve hospice and palliative care patients has been an honor to our staff and volunteers. We have several volunteer programs that make a difference in the lives of individuals and families. Volunteering can help with the grief of losing a loved one. A simple gesture such as holding someone's hand can comfort someone going through a difficult time. Homestead believes no one should be alone during their final journey. Many say that volunteering with Homestead gives them a deeper appreciation for life. It can provide a deeper sense of satisfaction by being able to help someone at the end of their life. Here's how you can help:
-Provide companionship and friendly visits to patients - flexible schedule!
-Help our agency provide activities such as art & crafts, music, bingo, reading, etc. in selected Assisted Living facilities
-Provide support for the patient's families by running errands, sitting with the patient to give the caregivers a break, or by giving emotional support.
Homestead will provide training for all levels of our volunteer programs. We cherish the time with each family and look forward to sharing this experience with you.

Homestead Hospice is dedicated to our patients and their families. When someone you love is diagnosed with a life limiting illness, everything changes. We are here to guide you through this difficult journey so that you can spend quality time with your loved one. Hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance. However, care is provided regardless of ability to pay.
