From the comfort of your own home volunteer to make a Clothing Bundle for a child or baby facing a critical illness.

COVID-19 challenges everyone's daily lives, including the lives of families who have a child with a critical illness. By volunteering you help provide families with the care they need as they try to cope with their child's medical crisis during this pandemic.

Many families facing critical illness struggle to find the time and resources to purchase the clothing that their growing children need. Providing clothing to a family allows them to focus more of their time and energy on other daily life activities, and one another.

Choose to make 1 Clothing Bundle or 5, 10 or more. Every week we receive requests from parents for Clothing Bundles.
Note: If you are doing this activity because you require volunteer service hours, they are typically calculated as follows: 1 hour for the first bundle and 15-20 minutes for each additional bundle.

What about COVID-19?
Please wear gloves and a mask while making the bundles(s).
Every bag we receive is quarantined before it is delivered to a family.

Include others in your experience!
Invite family members, friends, coworkers, students or faith community members to participate with you, virtually or in socially-distanced small groups.

Mission Statement

The mission of There With Care is to provide a wide range of meaningful and fundamental services to families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis. We serve families referred by medical agencies, by building a network of services and people who ease the burden of life's day-to-day obligations with compassion and care.

Description

The Bay Area Chapter was created in 2011, seven years after the founding chapter opened in Colorado. There With Care receives referrals from medical social workers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Mission Bay, San Francisco. When a family receives a medical diagnosis of critical illness for their child, There With Care connects with the family and engages community members and organizations to volunteer to help ease the stress of their day-to-day life activities.

For information on the experiences of families and children facing critical illness; There With Care's programs and services, and ways to participate and support families, please visit our website: therewithcare.org (Select the "Bay Area" location.
