Position Summary:

We just launched our new website in June 2019 and are looking for a Wordpress developer to extend its functionality around community engagement and feedback. In this role, you’ll help human rights defenders advance their movements under international law and amplify their impact within the human rights sector.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with web development, HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of PHP and Wordpress development
  • Knowledge of Git version control
  • Knowledge of Linux or macOS operating systems
  • Ability to work remotely and online in a networked organization
  • Provide technical support and assistance to other HRC team members
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and carry on actions in autonomy
  • Interest in learning about human rights, civil resistance and nonviolent action
  • English proficiency required

Are you missing some of the technical qualifications above but you’re committed to learn? Fear not! We want people who are willing to stretch their skills and will provide you with enough support and mentoring for that to happen.

As with all of our positions, this role is volunteer-based and unpaid. Candidates must be able to work independently, take initiative and pursue creative approaches to problem solving.
