ORGANIZATION: Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles

  • 7 people are interested

Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles is a small, non-profit used furniture store. We've been in business for 31 years and we are one of the economic institutions of the African People's Education and Defense Fund, making programs for self-determination in the Black community possible!

But we've been hit hard by the COVID shutdown and are looking for volunteers to help make sure we can still provide welcoming and helpful service to every customer!

Volunteers would genuinely welcome people, make sure they have a mask on, spritz their hands with hand sanitizer and make sure we are not at our max capacity before allowing the customers in. Volunteers would ask if they need any help and provide what help they can or otherwise get staff members to assist.

It's a FUN volunteer shift because you get to really make sure everyone is treated well the minute they arrive! You'll work with a FUN team. And your help is SO appreciated!

We ask that volunteers commit to at least one 3 hour shift per week. More is great!

No experience is required, we will provide training. Complete community service hours. Meet new people and learn new skills.

Interested? Contact us today and we'll get you signed up for a new-volunteer orientation to start! Thank you!
