ON-SITE Holiday Beach Cleanup (DOS)
ORGANIZATION: Ocean Institute
Please visit the new page to apply.
Get out of the house this holiday season with your family and help the environment. We will be cleaning up the beach to celebrate and we need your help. We will provide trash pickers and bags. Please bring a resuable water bottle, sunglasses, closed toed shoes, and sun screen. You can also bring gloves if you wish. If you have old grocery bags, using them to collect trash for this cleanup is a great way to upcycle them.
Data derived from the Ocean Conservancy demonstrated that approximately 3,216,991 cigarettes or cigarette butts were collected from beaches and inland waterways all over the world in 2009. Cigarette butts have a devastating effect on our ocean's ecosystem and marine life who mistake them for food items. Help us remove cigarette butts, plastic straws, and more from reaching our ocean by participating in a beach cleanup.
You can join one of our public beach cleanups or book a private beach cleanup for your family or group. We can accommodate cleanup groups as large as 30 people.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
