Season of Giving - Stocking Making Kits for Kids

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, in Orange County, The Christmas Holidays will look different this year. However, the NEED is greater than ever. Help us give children from low-income families, living in motels, some Christmas Cheer!

On December 19th we will be holding our Motel Kids Christmas party. This may be the only opportunity for presents and treats for these children.

The ASK: At the Motel Christmas party, in the past, we provided an Arts n Crafts station where kids could decorate a stocking. We'd like to give each child a kit to make their own stocking. Each craft bag (Gallon zip top bag) should include a felt stocking, felt stickers, rickrack or ribbon, small pompoms, decorative buttons, small packs of glitter or glitter glue, tacky glue or white glue. Or any other craft item to decorate a stocking. We need 250-300 stocking kits.

Donation Drop Off: Drop off donations no later than 12/11/20 4:00 pm at Grandmas House of Hope Donation Center.

Grandma's House of Hope is committed to improving the quality of life for Orange County's most vulnerable, underserved and socio-economically disadvantaged community members by providing housing, food and trauma-informed supportive services. GHH's mission is to Empower the Invisible Populations of Orange County by targeting those who truly slip between the cracks of other programs, with a specific focus on serving those who are ineligible for or who have significant difficulty accessing other organizations' services. We accomplish this through three core programs: GHH's Rescued and Restored Housing Program, Nana's Kidz program, and HopeWorks! Education and Enrichment Center program.

More than 20 percent of children living in Orange County - roughly 153,490 kids - are living in households that are considered "food insecure." 49% are eligible to receive free or reduced-price school meals. Many times, these children go to bed or to school hungry. Our Nana's Kidz Food Distribution program helps lift that burden for 3,500 children each year. https://www.grandmashouseofhope.org/
