Season of Giving Urgent Need - Boxed lunches for Motel Families

Due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic, in Orange County, the Christmas Holidays will look different this year. However, the NEED is greater than ever. Help us give children from low-income families, living in motels, some Christmas Cheer!

On December 19th we will be holding our Motel Kids Christmas party. This may be the only opportunity for presents and treats for these children.

The ASK: We need your help to provide lunch boxes that contain a sandwich, salad or wrap, chips or cookies, a piece of fruit and a juice or shelf stable milk box. These meals will be provided to children and their parents during our Motel Christmas Party. We need to collect 400 -500 of these meal boxes with child friendly and adult meals. Food Safety guidelines must be adhered to.

Donation Drop Off: Drop off donations no later than 10 am 12/19/20 at the Lexington Courtyard Inn.

Grandma's House of Hope is committed to improving the quality of life for Orange County's most vulnerable, underserved and socio-economically disadvantaged community members by providing housing, food and trauma-informed supportive services. GHH's mission is to Empower the Invisible Populations of Orange County by targeting those who truly slip between the cracks of other programs, with a specific focus on serving those who are ineligible for or who have significant difficulty accessing other organizations' services. We accomplish this through three core programs: GHH's Rescued and Restored Housing Program, Nana's Kidz program, and HopeWorks! Education and Enrichment Center program.

More than 20 percent of children living in Orange County - roughly 153,490 kids - are living in households that are considered "food insecure." 49% are eligible to receive free or reduced-price school meals. Many times, these children go to bed or to school hungry. Our Nana's Kidz Food Distribution program helps lift that burden for 3,500 children each year. https://www.grandmashouseofhope.org/
