We are looking for an Administrative Assistant who is passionate about mental health care to assist the Communications Manager draft the language and design the structure of important agency documents, policies, and handbooks. The Administrative Assistant will also be performing standard office tasks such as preparing meeting materials, creating routine reports and correspondence, etc., but will mainly contribute to the development of projects by writing drafts of training agreements and forms, reformatting and updating prior paperwork, and generating new documents. The Administrative Assistant should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and feel comfortable editing and revising drafts. Straight Talk Clinic operates in accordance with the latest CDC guidelines: all visitors and employees must wear masks, be screened, and have their temperatures checked. Our team is always considerate of social distancing and are committed to reducing infection risks by disinfecting surfaces and working remotely if possible.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide Communications Manager with clerical support (e.g. filing, emailing, & data entry)
Assist Communications Manager to draft, edit, and develop the content and format of new documents and forms
Draft training manuals, corporate appeals, and donor reports with direction from manager
Revise and repurpose previous drafts and documents
Handle preparations, scheduling, logistics, and other requirements for presentations/meetings
Perform other tasks as assigned
Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner
Must be dependable and punctual
Must demonstrate sharp attention to detail
Respect and maintain the confidentiality of Straight Talk Clinic’s volunteers, partners, and donors
Proficient with various personal computer software applications (e.g. Microsoft Suite)
Polished written and verbal communication skills
This position provides valuable experience with operational responsibilities in a nonprofit organization, and a mental health counseling center setting. Candidates can look forward to building mentor relationships and shadowing experienced, knowledgeable clinicians and program managers. Straight Talk Clinic’s sliding-fee scale, evening and weekend hours counseling programs address the special needs of low-income groups including children, adolescents, parents, couples, and seniors.
