Shelby Shelter is a 501(c)3 with the mission to heal and create new lives for animals all shapes and sizes. Currently, our main project is helping our collaborative rescue group, ChinaDogFlyToUSA, get their dogs adopted. The operations are held in Los Angeles and these dogs are coming from China.

With this in mind, most of our interactions when it comes to learning about these dogs are in Chinese. We will need volunteers who will be committed to translating Chinese text to English (ex; videos, text messages, graphic designs, etc)

How flexible and busy is this job? We do not need translations that often (maybe 1x every 2 weeks) making this opportunity extremely flexible. Currently, we just need someone to translate a 32 second video.

Also plus points if you can video edit as well! It would make the process much more smoothier :)

Mission Statement

Shelby Shelter is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to humanely reducing cat and dog overpopulation. By educating the public about the need to spay and neuter their pets and strays; providing access information to low-cost spay/neuter services for stray, homeless and abandoned animals; helping members in their efforts to place adoptable pets in loving homes; and advocating non-lethal population control.

"When I first got involved in rescue, it was just to foster an animal on a temporary bases because, like many, I had 2 jobs and just didn’t feel I had time to do anything else. Over the course of a few months I became more aware of how inefficient and unjust the system was with regards to animal care and value for life itself. Having seen hundreds of animals euthanized over the course of a few days, at no fault of thier own, I knew I had to do more. So, I began doing research and making time for what was important, saving lives. Now when people tell me, 'Jessica, you cant save the world’, I just respond, 'No, I cant, but I can make a world of difference to those that I help’. " - Jessica M. Baker, Founder
