At Lantern, we provide permanent housing and social services for people who have been homeless for a long time, come from disadvantaged communities, and deal with issues such as mental illnesses, physical disabilities or HIV. We also provide housing for young people who have aged out of foster care. We have 15 supportive housing buildings located in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx, and serve a total population of about 1,500 people. We also operate and support two emergency shelters: one in Queens and the other in Washington Heights.

On November 17 and 20, 2020, Lantern will be serving Thanksgiving meals to our residents. Since there are hundreds of residents in our buildings, we need generous volunteers to assist with the meal handouts and overall community engagement. This position is very community-oriented and will follow COVID-19 social distancing and sanitation guidelines. Please feel free to reach out to us if you are interested. It will be a wholesome and emotionally replenishing event.
