COVID-19 has further isolated older adults in our communities, you can make a difference from the safety & comfort of your own home!
Social Call volunteers visit with a local older adult weekly for social visits. Volunteers provide companionship, a listening ear, and their company. Who you are paired with is based on location, availability, and shared interests. Social Call volunteers find that making a visit to an older adult in their community is quite rewarding and many develop long-term friendships with the older adult they are paired with.
During COVID-19 affected times, all visits will be virtual. Visits will be conducted over the phone, or with video calls for those older adults who have access. We will transition to in-person visits when the pandemic has passed.
Social Call volunteers:
- Receive training and ongoing support
- Are matched with an adult 60 years or older
- Visit with their match for an hour each week for 6 months or longer
Volunteer training scheduled regularly.
Bilingual volunteers strongly encouraged to apply! All adults aged 18 yrs and older welcome to apply.
