Think about how much better you feel after going to the beauty shop and getting your hair washed and styled and maybe really splurging and getting a manicure, topping it all off with a fresh coat of nailpolish? Now imagine how you'd feel if you hadn't had the opportunity to get that kind of pampering in the last 7 months or longer? That's the case with many of our lady hospice patients. Their hair is washed and kept clean, but they may not have been able to get a nice style or their nails done in quite some time due to not being able to get to a beauty shop.
Could you spare a couple hours to take the beauty shop to a patient and provide some extra TLC, making these ladies feel some normalcy and beauty?
Occasionally, our families ask if we have volunteers who can come to the house to do their mom's hair and/or nails. We would love to have some volunteers we can call to provide such a service.

Description
Freedom Hospice offers hospice service in the Dallas/ Fort Worth, Cleburne, San Antonio and other extended areas around those locations.
Hospice care is managed through a medically directed interdisciplinary team approach. Our team provides the patient and family with the best possible compassionate care. The interdisciplinary team develops a patient specific plan of care for each individual.
The hospice team consists of physicians, nurses, social workers, nursing assistants, chaplains, bereavement coordinators, volunteer coordinators and trained hospice volunteers.
