We would welcome a PR Agency or Person to join us to support our worldwide initiatives to empower women in business: Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO), an international social media campaign, #ChooseWOMEN. We have many wonderful opportunities we would love PR support with including our series with the world’s most successful women, our foundation’s Summit at the United Nations (this year virtual), #ChooseWOMEN - social media initiative in partnership with award-winning creative agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, and with our 350 Ambassadors around the world as well as our impact initiatives are throughout the year! This year’s our global agenda will focus on climate change and the impact of AI, Fintech, and Blockchain Technologies, the disruption happening globally, and the pivotal role women play!
With the economic turmoil due to COVID-19 Women and minorities have been the hardest hit economically and movement to virtual workplaces, time has never been more critical.
We are excited to include you in our grassroots mission in alleviating poverty by empowering, celebrating, and supporting women in business!
With a variety of days dedicated to various causes, one might ask - Why does the world need Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO)/ChooseWOMEN and why should I support it? Consider then, that women perform 66% of the world’s work, yet earn 10% of the world’s income. At the same time, they account for 85% of consumer purchases and control $20 trillion in worldwide spending. Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) is a movement that carries throughout the year in support of women in business globally. WEDO ignites women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion, and advance communities worldwide. We are celebrated in 144 countries and 110 universities and colleges as well as celebrated at the United Nations. Our mission is to empower the 4 billion women across the globe to be catalysts of change and uplift the 250 million girls living in poverty globally.
We are proud to share that New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, and New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio proclaimed Women’s Entrepreneurship Day an official day on November 19 th annually. The U.S. House of Representatives every year recognizes our movement on November 19th as "A Day in Honor of Women Entrepreneurs" under the leadership of Congresswoman Grace Meng.

WEDO’s ambassador team has already made a huge impact. The Saudi Arabia WED team hosted a nation-wide entrepreneurship training program for 60,000 female college students and early-stage entrepreneurs. 25 young women received funding to launch their own businesses. In New York City at the United Nations, WEDO donated 1000 microloans to impoverished women so they can start their own business. In Oman, the WED ambassador announced an initiative to empower women and girls by using their votes against arranged marriage. In Uruguay, a partnership with a local university offered 20 scholarships to the girls present at the WED summit. The WED Philippines team educated 1000 rural women with financial literacy - all over the world our WEDO team is making a difference!
Our #ChooseWOMEN international digital campaign launches on December 2nd, 2020, inviting consumers worldwide to support women-owned businesses on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving in the spirit of American Express’s Small Business Saturday.
