HabiStore is Habitat For Humanity's retail store selling lightly used home furnishing supplies including furniture, appliances, tolls and more! Our Habistore gives a second life to items, saving them from landfills and givs someone the opportunity to improve their home for less.
We provide three 4.5 hour shifts per day for volunteers Monday through Saturday (8:30am-1pm, 10:30am-3pm, and 12:30pm-5pm).
The Merchandiser and Inventory Specialist help to organize products, sales displays, get prices for items missing a price, remove items that may be broken, assist with inventory, create distinct and compelling sales displays for products on floor in creative ways, assist with the "forward facing" aspect of store inventory to help drive sales to a product or products. This position is expected to perform all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner to achieve a safe and positive customer experience and ensure the continual improvement of the HabiStore reputation, productivity and profitability.
Volunteers perform duties such as:
- Stock sales floor with new and donated items and keep organized
- Provide an excellent customer service experience and greet every customer in a helpful, courteous manner
- Helporganize, clean and price products on sales floor. Lighting, artwork, misc table.
- Clean furniture as needed ie dust furniture, clean appliances.
- Focus on displaying items in the correct area of the store, throwing away anything broken and assist Sales Floor Manager in any movement or displays of the sales floor.
- Keep salesfloor stocked and organized
- Create distinct and compelling sales displays for products in creative ways
- Assist with putting inventory on sales floor as needed
- Move repairable furniture to the wood shop for repair
- Clean and or discard items that may be broken
- Help get pricing for items not labeled with a price
- Assist in putting inventory out on sales floor if needed
- Perform other tasks as assigned

At Habitat Tucson, we build homes with the assistance of volunteers. Come join us as a part of a group or as an individual. Construction experience is not required.
We also have daily opportunities at our HabiStore where we sell gently used household goods and building supplies. Volunteers assist with receiving and sorting donated goods, greeting customers, and selling items. All of the proceeds generated from the HabiStore, support the building of more Habitat homes.
