HabiStore is Habitat For Humanity's retail store selling lightly used home furnishing supplies including furniture, appliances, tolls and more! Our Habistore gives a second life to items, saving them from landfills and givs someone the opportunity to improve their home for less.
We provide three 4.5 hour shifts per day for volunteers Tuesday through Saturday (8:30am-1pm, 10:30am-3pm, and 12:30pm-4pm).
The Warehouse Assistant/ Receiving Associate is responsible for assisting customers and donors with loading and unloading of purchases and donations in the warehouse area as well as assisting in maintaining warehouse and stored product in an organized, clean and safe environment by preparing items for sales floor display.This position is expected to perform all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner to achieve a safe and positive customer experience and ensure the continual improvement of the HabiStore reputation, productivity and profitability.
Volunteers perform duties such as:
Provide an excellent customer service experience and greet every customer and donor in a helpful, courteous manner
Assists customers with loading purchased items.
Help donorsunloaddonations at drop off door in receiving
Maintain proper paperwork when providing Tax receipts to donors that are donating items to the store.
Price donations and put them on the floor for distribution by sales floor associate or merchandizer.
Prepare doors (remove hinges and handles), sinks(remove faucets) and clean appliances (interior and exterior) to get ready for sales floor display.
Locate sold items from sales floor and bring into warehouse for loading
Completes and issues donation receipts to the donor at the point of pickup. Provides friendly, professional and efficient donor interactions.
Help organize, clean or price products in warehouse
Assist in putting inventory out on sales floor if needed
Perform other tasks as assigned by receiving manager.
Volunteers are able to select the shifts that work best for their schedule and there is flexibility on volunteer day and times! All volunteers are required to attend a short 1 hour training before volunteering for a full shift.

At Habitat Tucson, we build homes with the assistance of volunteers. Come join us as a part of a group or as an individual. Construction experience is not required.
We also have daily opportunities at our HabiStore where we sell gently used household goods and building supplies. Volunteers assist with receiving and sorting donated goods, greeting customers, and selling items. All of the proceeds generated from the HabiStore, support the building of more Habitat homes.
