We are looking for caring, compassionate volunteers willing to spend a few hours a month helping to support patients and their families. As little as a few hours a month can bring so much support to these patients and their families. On average, hospice volunteers give 4-8 hours per month.
New hospice volunteers participate in free training that is available at your convenience.
Opportunities Available:
- Direct Care Volunteers- Phone calls, in-home visits, running errands for patients, and activities like reading, praying, playing music, etc.
- Bereavement Support Volunteers- There are volunteers, ages 16 and older, who provide emotional support to families who have lost their loved one with hospice through phone calls, mail-outs (cards & letters) and home visits.
- Special Projects Volunteers- These are volunteers of any age who are part of a group or work independently to provide support to the office staff or to provide comfort items for patients such as blankets, attending health fairs, and assisting at nursing facilities.

A hospice volunteer is a special part of the hospice team. If you have a desire to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill or those who are grieving by giving of your time to assist a patient, family member, or our office staff, then you have the qualities we're looking for in our volunteers. Volunteering includes making scrap books, blankets, cards, treats, reading, writing, visiting, and much much more.
New hospice volunteers participate in free training that provides information regarding the hospice philosophy of care.
