YL Volunteer

YouthLink works with homeless youth, ages 16-24. We are located in downtown Minneapolis, and serve youth across the Twin Cities.

At YouthLink, we have over 40 years of experience connecting young people with a community of resources and support. Whether it’s basic needs, like a hot shower or a warm meal, assistance with employment or educational goals, accessing mental and physical health resources, or finding supportive housing, we can help young people at all stages of their journey. Our vision is a community in which all youth, without regard to their living situation, have an equal opportunity to pursue their goals and dreams, and an equal likelihood of achieving them.

On any given night in Minnesota, 4,000 young people will experience homelessness. But homelessness is not their final destination. Thanks to YouthLink, and supporters like you, we can open new pathways for young people facing barriers, and help them build more stable futures.

We have ongoing and one-time, onsite and offsite, individual and group COVID-friendly volunteer opportunities including:

  • Prepare and serve lunch to the youth in our drop-in center
  • Organize and distribute items to youth in our clothing and donations closet
  • Support our front-line employees
  • "Sponsor a Meal"
  • Put together outreach and toiletry kits with your group and drop them off

...and more! Opportunities are continually added, so make sure to keep checking back and register on YouthLink's volunteer website to get updates when new opportunities are posted.

Description

At YouthLink, we have over 40 years of experience connecting young people with a community of resources and support. Whether it’s basic needs, like a hot shower or a warm meal, assistance with employment or educational goals, accessing mental and physical health resources, or finding supportive housing, we can help young people at all stages of their journey.

YouthLink is also the host site for the Youth Opportunity Center (YOC). The YOC is a unique collaborative model, bringing together a variety of organizations and agencies that provide resources young people experiencing homelessness may need - all in one location. Our one-stop-shop model helps deliver life-changing resources more effectively for the young people we work with.

On any given night in Minnesota, 4,000 young people will experience homelessness. But homelessness is not their final destination. Thanks to YouthLink, and supporters like you, we can open new pathways for young people facing barriers, and help them build more stable futures.
