The generosity of Hope Services' volunteers make it possible for people with developmental disabilities to be valued and participating members of their communities. At Hope Services, we believe that the world is a better place when people with disabilities are fully integrated and accepted in all aspects of our culture.

Activities

Help maintain safe working and shopping environment throughout the store

Take priced household items and put on shelves

Take priced clothing and hang in specific size section

Sort donations in production area

Keep floor clean/free of items that may cause tripping hazards on store floor

Partner with and support HOpe clients in their assigned duties.

Time Commitment

Preferably 2 hour or more shifts.

Days are flexible during store hours.

Store is open Tuesday through Sunday (Closed Mondays)

COVID Safety

Volunteers are asked to bring their own mask

Available Locations and Hours:

Watsonville: Tuesday - Sunday from 10am to 6pm

San Jose: Tuesday - Sunday from 10am t0 6pm

Fremont: Everyday from 10am to 6pm

Our clients would enjoy having members of our community be a part of our organization and of their lives in whatever capacity they can.

Description

We have developed a new weaving program and several of our weavers are in need of someone who can help sew some of the woven fabric into pillows, handbags etc. We are looking for someone who can volunteer 2 to 6 hours per week sewing a variety of projects under the guidance of our Master Weaver. Must have good sewing skills, willing to commit to be with us for 6 months and complete our clearance protocol. Hope Services’ mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, as measured by eight indicators: personal development self-determination interpersonal relations social inclusion rights emotional well-being, physical well-being, and material well-being
