Do you want to make a difference for our planet and get hands-on work experience at an international conservation NGO? Rainforest Partnership (RP) is a non-profit based in Austin, Texas, with team members in the US and Peru. We conserve and restore tropical rainforests by working with communities to develop sustainable livelihoods that empower and respect both people and nature.

RP is currently looking for a Project Coordinator to support our external communications and projects on the ground. This internship is unpaid but may be claimed for class credit. The expected time commitment is around 20 hours per week.

The Project Coordinator will work to strengthen Rainforest Partnership’s impact around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Translate and organize incoming reports and photos from personnel abroad
  • Help track project activities
  • Provide assistance to Peru team (e.g. monthly report, updates, project implementation summaries)
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and interact with personnel in Peru as necessary for appointed responsibilities
  • Create a strategy for social media of RP in Peru and implement it

Qualifications - Candidates must have:

  • Knowledge in rainforest conservation or an ability to learn new concepts easily and willingness to spend time to gain throughout understanding about the work in the field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management skills or an aptitude for project management
  • Proficiency in research, interpreting, and analyzing data
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Resourcefulness and creativity
  • Spanish skills in speaking and writing
