*Do you have a passion for working with youth and teens? *Do you believe in the benefits of bringing people from different cultures and backgrounds together? *Do you enjoying sharing your American way of life with others?
If your answers are: YES, YES, YES, combine all three passions into one: Become a volunteer Aspect host family and make a high school exchange student part of your family during the spring 2021 semester!
Who are our host families?
Aspect host families are welcoming. They open their hearts and homes and share their daily lives with their exchange students. They provide loving homes for their students and introduce them to American life. Host families enjoy the rewards of learning about different cultures and forming lifelong bonds with a new member of their family.
Aspect host families are America's most important and generous volunteers. They are part of America’s public diplomacy effort and help foster international understanding, one student and one friendship at a time. Now more than ever, they help to ensure a peaceful future for our children.
Aspect host families are diverse. They have no typical size or shape. Host families can be adults 25 or older who are single or married, with or without children. Empty-nesters, retirees, families with young children, single adults, families with teenage children - you name it! What they all have in common is that they share a welcoming spirit and a commitment to providing a safe, loving home for an exchange student.
Aspect host families are everywhere. They live in towns big and small across Davis County as well as other parts of America, from rural farmlands to the busy sidewalks of cities and everywhere in between.
Who are our students?
Aspect exchange students are bright, eager teenagers from around the world. They are between the ages of 15 and 18 and come from 25 different countries. Our students study at their host family’s local public high and become active members of their host families and communities. It goes without saying that during these uncertain times we are taking all the precautions we can to make sure students and host families are safe and healthy. Our students are tested for Covid-19 before they arrive and, in some cases, are additionally quarantined after they arrive.
Aspect students pass a rigorous screening and orientation process in order to participate in Aspect’s exchange program. All of our students are carefully screened for emotional maturity, cultural curiosity, academic achievement, and English language ability. Some of our students have not only gone through Aspect’s screening but have also been selected for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange & Study (YES) Program and the Future Leader Exchange (FLEX) Program, respectively. These programs are a highly prestigious, merit-based, full scholarship programs sponsored by the Department of State enabling students to spend the spring semester at an American high school.
Aspect students all share a dream - to experience the American way of life with a real American host family this upcoming spring 2021 semester! Browse our New Student Profiles to learn more about the great students who are looking for loving host families just like yours:
