ORGANIZATION: ESSTEAM LAB INC

  • 4 people are interested

The ESSTEAM Lab provides programs and resources that integrate sustainable practices with STEAM education and Making. The meaning behind the name incorporates both the acronym for the subjects taught (Entrepreneurship, Sustainability, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math = ESSTEAM) as well as the principle of esteem, or confidence, that I hope these programs will instill in our students.
An active and supportive board is essential for the success of a nonprofit. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of odd months for 2 hours in the evening. There will be follow-up tasks and/or discussions via email depending on your area(s) of interest in serving the nonprofit.
In the Charleston SC Tri-County area, we currently offer after school, homeschool, and camp programs for K-11 students, teacher professional development workshops, and kit rentals for schools/families. In the future, we plan to offer skill based workshops on various maker crafts, co-host a monthly maker market, run a makerspace studio for adults/families, and an outdoor nature makerspace for kids.
