The Fountain Theatre

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 3 people are interested

Become a Fountain Friend! Fountain Friends is the Fountain Theatre's new volunteer program.

We have an ongoing need for volunteers to assist with specific projects as they occur. We can also use help in such general areas as outreach, phone banking, mailings, fundraising, marketing, social media, arts education, video/photography, data entry, running errands and making deliveries, handyman/carpentry and more. And bi-lingual is a plus with some projects.

Much of this work -- such as phone calls, research, social media, etc. -- can be done from home. Computer files can be emailed. Physical supplies can be delivered. Hence our need for volunteers to run errands and make deliveries.:-)

IMPORTANT: we are COVID-compliant in all activities. All PPEs are provided.

Email Fountain Friends volunteer coordinator, Terri Roberts, at terri@fountaintheatre.com to volunteer and for more information.

About The Fountain Theatre

Location:

5060 FOUNTAIN AVE, LOS ANGELES, CA 90029, US

Mission Statement

The Fountain Theatre is a non-profit producing organization established in 1990 by Deborah Lawlor and Stephen Sachs that is dedicated to providing a nurturing, creative home for multi-ethnic theatre and dance artists. Here we develop provocative new works or explore a unique vision of established plays that reflect the immediate concerns and cultural diversity of contemporary Los Angeles and the nation. In an era of urban anxiety, ethnic hostility and wavering spirit, the Fountain offers a safe, supportive haven for artists of varied backgrounds to gather, interact and inspire each other toward the creation of work that will ignite and illuminate the community from which it’s drawn and give creative voice to those who may not otherwise be heard.

Description

The Fountain Theatre is an award winning non-profit producing organization dedicated to providing a creative home for our diverse community and giving voice to under-served communities throughout Los Angeles. The Fountain Theatre aims to support the social and cultural life of Los Angeles and the nation, as evidenced by our purposeful selections of plays and events that reflect contemporary issues such as race, religion, and the economy. The Fountain Theatre sits in Los Angeles County's 3rd District, the most ethnically diverse district in the county and perhaps the nation. The Fountain has been celebrated for over 30 years for its unwavering commitment to the underrepresented voices of our community. Our unique role in the arts community and in Los Angeles as a whole works to ensure that important under-recognized issues are brought to public attention and given the exposure that they deserve.
