School Group (SG) is a start-up international non-profit developing a cutting-edge global e-learning platform that will allow students around the world to connect for peer-to-peer collaborative learning and skills development - improving the accessibility and quality of education, while transforming lives and impacting future success. In this role, you will be responsible for oversight of our marketing department to help meet organizational goals for improving education and lives around the world by promoting our international peer e-learning network. You will also work closely with the CEO, providing ideation and creative direction to help further refine our overall strategy, positioning and initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Leading the development, implementation and management of all marketing strategy focused. 
  • Overseeing the positioning, strategy and development of global marketing programs across channels, ensuring messaging is high-quality, reflects our voice, and represent the School Group brand. 
  • Identifying opportunities to translate organizational mission and goals into high-touch, cross-platform, data-driven marketing opportunities across all platforms, both digital and experiential. 
  • Serving as the in-house expert on all things marketing, while partnering with department heads across the organization. 
  • Identifying industry trends and marketplace needs, cultivating new partnership prospects and conceiving innovative new marketing initiatives. 
  • Providing strategic recommendations to CEO on industry trends and market needs. 
  • Participating in cross-functional brainstorming sessions to evolve marketing strategy conversations and build consensus.

Key Relationships

  • Add positions consulted for this role, both internal and external. Also include direct reports, if any, and level of supervision.



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or English. 
  • Minimum 10-15 years of marketing management experience in a nonprofit or corporate setting. 
  • A combination of both hands-on marketing experience and team management in digital marketing, content marketing, PR and communications, and market research. 
  • Deep understanding of the global marketing landscape and trends. 
  • Experience leading the strategy for and managing a marketing department, working cross-functionally with internal teams and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong writing, interpersonal, relationship-building and collaboration skills.  
  • Ability to successfully interface with senior-level internal stakeholders.


  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or English. 
  • Experience working remotely as part of a team.  
  • Experience working in a start-up company, non-profit or entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Self-directed and disciplined with the ability to work independently in an ever-changing environment.
