Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference in a student's life? Join 10,000 Degrees Academic Support’s team of virtual volunteer tutors!

We are in need of tutors in all grades and subjects - kindergarten-12th grade. Our volunteers support public school teachers in their virtual classrooms or tutor students one on one online.

You don’t have to be a subject-matter or technology expert. No previous tutoring experience is needed - just a desire to help students reach their potential.

For more information and an application, please visit https://www.10000degrees.org/about/academic-support/ or contact Program Manager Judy Kramer at jkramer@10000degrees.org.

Mission Statement

10,000 Degrees' mission is to achieve educational equity and to support students from low-income backgrounds to and through college to positively impact their communities and the world. Now in our 42st year, 10,000 Degrees is a leading, equity-focused scholarship provider and college success nonprofit in California serving more than 12,000+ students and their families each year in eight Bay Area counties - San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Lake.

Description

10,000 Degrees programs provide comprehensive wraparound support, college and financial aid counseling, near-peer alumni coaching, scholarships, and financial aid management. Unlike most other college success organizations, there is no GPA requirement to participate in 10,000 Degrees programs. Our Fellowship program is a key underlining of our success. Fellows, near-peer coaches who are recent college graduates and often alumni of 10,000 Degrees, are embedded in high school and college campuses to help students navigate life both on and off-campus and throughout their college success journey. In addition to supporting high school students, we are also assisting 3,000 students who are attending 56 community colleges and 170 four-year colleges and universities in California and across the nation.
