Help Support Veterans and Save History

This is a fully remote role.

Project Overview and Time Commitment

We are looking for a volunteer accountant who has past government agency experience to help us with a short-term assignment of analyzing budget records spanning 10 years. You will play a key role in our organization’s goal to request additional funding for the National Archives from lawmakers in D.C. Once the assignment is complete, we require assistance for long-term accounting oversight.

If you are passionate about history and veterans’ advocacy as much as you are about numbers and budgets, you will feel right at home with us.

Short term Project: 15-20 hours of total work

Analyze publicly available financial/budget reports (of the National Archives) to synthesize the information for legislative advocacy efforts on behalf of our non-profit.

Long term Project: 1.5 hours per month


Provide accounting oversight for our non-profit.

Primary Responsibilities

● Manage accounting transactions
● Prepare budget forecasts
● Prepare financial reports
● Prepare audited financial statements
● Comply with financial policies and regulations
