About Junior Achievement of Alaska, Inc.

639 W. International Airport Road, Anchorage, AK 99518, US

Mission Statement

Junior Achievement (JA) of Alaska maintains an active vision on how we can have a positive impact on the lives of more students -- guided by our core values... 1. Believe in the boundless potential of young people 2. Commitment to the principles of market-based economics and entrepreneurship 3. Passion for what we do and honesty, integrity, and excellence in how we do it 4. Respect for the talents, creativity, perspectives, and backgrounds of all individuals 5. Believe in the power of partnership and collaboration 6. Conviction in the educational and motivational impact of relevant, hands-on learning Our core values are comprised of our core ideology: To inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Junior Achievement (JA), with the support of community volunteers and dedicated educational leaders, helps to inspire and empower students to believe in themselves, showing them they can make a difference in the world. JA extends education so that kids have a deeper conceptual understanding of what is necessary to contribute to the success of their future, opening their minds to their potential and preparing them for the world of work.

JA programs correlate to state standards in social studies, English, and mathematics, and to Common Core State Standards. All of our programs are session-specific, student-friendly materials are included to increase student interaction.

It's not an easy task but we continue to impact the lives of young people in over 55 communities statewide, reaching out to over 15,125 students across Alaska.
