At The WonderSeed Foundation, we are looking for a junior volunteer Qualitative Researcher (students and interns welcome) to help us conduct a series of in-person interviews in the New Orleans area. The ideal candidate would be an empathic and creative individual with some experience understanding and following interview guides, interviewing groups and/or individuals, and helping interpret data findings, themes, and insights.
Participate in an onboarding session to understand the scope of the project
Conduct a total of 8 interviews in a period of 2-5 days (1-hour in-person interviews between 10am- 2pm daily)
Record interviews and take notes (recording devices provided)
Write up short summaries of the interviews
Participate in short debriefing sessions between and after the interviews with the broader team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills * At least 1+ years of experience conducting qualitative research * Experience with disadvantaged groups and minorities desired * Experience with Technology, Motion Graphics, and UXR desired * Ability to think and respond quickly and professionally * Students of Social Sciences welcome * Manage time effectively * Must have your own vehicle to travel to events * Must be located in New Orleans, LA (or surrounding area) * Detail-oriented * Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team * Professional demeanor with a high degree of comfort working with others * A positive, can-do attitude
