Are you looking to gain more experience in qualitative research and interviewing techniques? Then this could be a great opportunity for you!

At The WonderSeed Foundation, we are looking for a junior volunteer Qualitative Researcher (students and interns welcome) to help us conduct a series of in-person interviews in the New Orleans area. The ideal candidate would be an empathic and creative individual with some experience understanding and following interview guides, interviewing groups and/or individuals, and helping interpret data findings, themes, and insights.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in an onboarding session to understand the scope of the project
  • Conduct a total of 8 interviews in a period of 2-5 days (1-hour in-person interviews between 10am- 2pm daily)
  • Record interviews and take notes (recording devices provided)
  • Write up short summaries of the interviews
  • Participate in short debriefing sessions between and after the interviews with the broader team
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    * At least 1+ years of experience conducting qualitative research
    * Experience with disadvantaged groups and minorities desired
    * Experience with Technology, Motion Graphics, and UXR desired
    * Ability to think and respond quickly and professionally
    * Students of Social Sciences welcome
    * Manage time effectively
    * Must have your own vehicle to travel to events
    * Must be located in New Orleans, LA (or surrounding area)
    * Detail-oriented
    * Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
    * Professional demeanor with a high degree of comfort working with others
    * A positive, can-do attitude
