TWO TYPES OF VOLUNTEERS: We are currently following all guidelines for COVID-19 and the patient care volunteer maybe virtual or telephonic.
Patient Care Volunteer-Be a part of a patient’s care team. They make home visits to offer companionship for patients and relief for caregivers. Activities may include reading to the patient, assisting with a hobby, listening, playing music, running errands or grocery shopping.
Organizational Volunteers-This person does not work directly with patients and families. This role would work in the Legacy Hospice office to support our care team or may help with patients and families through indirect support. This might include creating special memories for holidays, patient birthdays and anniversaries. Possibly planting flowers or mowing a yard for patients that are no longer able.
Assisting in the offices making copies, making phone calls or filing.
