Heartland Hospice, a division of HCR ManorCare, a not-for-profit, mission-based provider and part of the ProMedica Health System providing hospice care to patients facing a life-limiting illness in Roanoke, Lynchburg, and the New River Valley. Volunteers are an integral part of our patient care team as they offer companionship, emotional support, and a supportive presence to our patients and caregivers. Volunteers can act as a friendly visitor, provide respite to caregivers, help with projects in the patient's home, play games, watch television with the patient, and more!
Our volunteers are trained and equipped with knowledge about hospice, HIPAA, infection control, and more. Volunteers also receive a free TB test and flu shot!
