The LDISD will be hosting a canned food drive to help local families during the Holiday season. Some of our local churches potatoes, turkeys, sugar, etc. We need volunteers to help us sort through the canned, boxed, and packaged foods to make sure each family receives enough for several days.

This is a fun experience and time flies very quickly when working with others.
Masks are required and an event approval has been given by the mayor.

Mission Statement

It is our mission to join with local churches, individuals, and businesses, to provide relief to our community by providing clothing, home goods, food, and even school supplies, for those in the Lake Cities area who have experienced some form of disaster in their lives.

Description

Michael Barnhart started There Has To Be More Ministries in August of 2010. During a transitional time in his career, he heard the calling to go into the Lake Cities to find and begin reaching out to those who needed a hand up. It was Michael's dream to work together with local churches, other like-minded ministries, businesses, schools, and individuals, to help families in crisis then to make sure they are able to become a viable part of the culture again. Reaching out to the hurting has become our mission. Not only do we want to share God's love with those who are hurting or have lost hope, but we want to remind them that they are valuable, that no matter where they are in life, they too have something to offer. You give, we give, they give. Together we make our community stronger.
