The Nest Academy is seeking a cheerful, special individual to provide transportation to school each day for our amazing students!! This is a very special NEED, as the van ride to and from school has been one of our students favorite experiences. This would also be the first person our students see each day! We are seeking an awesome Volunteer to share an hour in the mornings and/or an hour in the afternoons. Dependent on availability, this could be one specific day per week or all five days of the week. The Nest Academy has a 15 passenger van (provided) and we may be upgrading or a bigger one. Volunteer/Candidate would arrive at the academy and then drive the van to pickup of students within 5 miles of the academy and drop the students off and the van again. The hours are 8:00 am to 9:30 am with 2 groups. Afternoons will have two groups as well. It is a wonderful opportunity to impact students lives and invest in them each day!
We do practice safety procedures due to COVID with masks, sanitization, and cleaning. If you or someone you know can rotate or even volunteer each week please reach out to us. To learn more about our mission please go to www.thenestacademy.org

Mission Statement
Where we educate, empower and enrich Charlotte’s refugee, immigrant, underprivileged and at-risk children through a holistic education addressing the whole child: academically, emotionally, socially and experientially to become first-generation graduates. A trauma-informed, holistic approach to education to promote whole healthy youth for tomorrow.
Description
EDUCATE, ENRICH and EMPOWER students through education, a sense of COMMUNITY with LOVE and RESPECT and to encourage them to become confident, educated, accomplished, giving and successful first generation refugee high school graduates. WE HAVE SEEN GREAT SUCCESS! The academy is UNIQUE, it is OUT OF THE BOX and unprecedented. We have created a custom learning environment that is multi age, multi grade and multi faceted. We integrate creative, performing and visual arts, music and rhythm therapy, provide a holistic approach to address the whole child, welcome public speakers in the community to inspire students, offer cutting edge physical, social, emotional training, and many experiential opportunities outside of the classroom, much like those MC personally experienced growing up. Upon graduation, our students are equipped to succeed in America.
