ORGANIZATION: The Laurel Foundation

*Our residential camps will be following all protocols and procedures set by local and state officials to keep the risk of COVID at a minimum. We will also be following guidelines set by the American Camp Association.*

The Laurel Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering transgender/gender diverse youth (Camp Mulberry) and youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS (Camp Laurel). The Laurel Foundation's educational and support programs impact the lives of over 700 at-risk children, youth and families. Our programs are a powerful antidote to the challenges of living with an illness or facing social isolation issues, bringing a sense of healing, hope and joy to those we serve.

Our volunteers serve as Cabin Counselors, Medical Staff (RNs, NPs, MDs), or Help Team (licensed mental health professionals) for our children and families during the duration of camp. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact and become a mentor to youth that need support.

Our Camp Mulberry Summer program will be held July 31st - August 5th, 2021 and will serve transgender/gender diverse youth ages 6-17. We are seeking positive and energetic transgender/gender diverse adult volunteers to join our Camp Family! We understand the importance of our youth having the support of adults in their lives and having mentors that can relate to their experiences. Our camp is a safe, affirming, and loving space for campers and volunteers and offers many opportunities for personal and professional development. Food and housing is provided during the duration of camp. This is a residential camp, all volunteers will stay on-site during the duration of camp. Email Lisa for an application: LHardiman@Laurel-Foundation.org. Limited space available!

Be part of the magic and change the lives of transgender/gender diverse youth this summer!

Mission Statement

Committed to improving the lives of children living with HIV and AIDS, we believe that every child has the right to experience the wonder of childhood. Through our programs we strive to contribute to the development of each child’s self esteem, self-awareness and self-fulfillment. The mission of The Laurel Foundation is to empower children, youth and families affected by HIV/AIDS through educational and support programs in a safe and trusting environment.
