We're looking for a Massachusetts-based Treasurer to join our Board of Directors who is passionate about education focused on students well-being and social-emotional development. The Treasurer is responsible for developing an annual organizational budget in partnership with the Executive Director, keeping accurate records of all income and expenses relative to budgeted amounts, managing bank accounts and cash balance, and reporting on quarterly financials at board meetings. The Treasurer also assists our pro-bono accountants in preparing annual federal and state filings and assists our Executive Director in managing payroll, insurance, and other finance-related activities. The Treasurer participates in the SEL4MA Finance Committee and Fundraising Committee.

Description

It is our vision that adoption of the antiracist social and emotional learning (SEL) policies and practices will allow for Massachusetts schools and community education-serving groups to be centers of safe, caring and supportive activity where youth and adults are empathetic, resilient, civically engaged and culturally aware and responsive, and develop the skills to solve problems, manage emotions and form positive relationships with others.

SEL4MA connects local social emotional learning (SEL) stakeholders in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to learn and share best practices, builds community and statewide awareness for SEL and its impact, supports high-quality SEL practice and professional learning, and advocates for state and local policies and funding to support SEL.
