Friends of the Shelter works to both support Missoula Animal Control and also Missoula's pets through financial ad and fundraising opportunities.

We are in need of volunteers to help execute fundraising events and create promotional materials to educate local residents on how to care for their animals.

This opportunity primarily revolves around the marketing side of our non-profit. Work with the marketing director to:

  • scout for fundraising opportunities
  • create marketing materials around specific promotions & educational materials
  • seek out other volunteers to help with photography or videography of local pets that have been saved by FOS
  • brainstorm for fundraising campaigns with creative freedom
  • opportunity to join the board of directors
  • be largely autonomous with your scheduling (due date expectations are the exception)

As a volunteer you will be:
  • directly helping to connect fundraising funds with pets in need of medical care
  • educating Missoula's residents on resources to help them support their pets
  • creating campaigns to help pets get adopted into forever homes
  • helping to educate people on the importance of our local shelter
Experience in any of the following fields is a BIG plus:
  • veterinary care
  • previous non-profit experience
  • animal advocacy groups
  • animal shelter experience
  • animal care services
  • marketing
  • grant writing
  • photography
  • videography
  • social media
