There’s more that goes into an adoption than you might think! At Homeward Bound, we pride ourselves on a thorough adoption process. That means discussing with adopters the kind of cat they’re looking for and finding the right family for every cat. A great match is a job well done! We could always use some help at our front office with responsibilities that include:
- Answering office phone, handling inquiries and questions, forwarding calls as needed
- Managing email inbox and scheduling appointments
- Completing adoption interviews via phone or email
- Filling out adoption paperwork and completing associated data entry and filing
This front office shift is from 12pm to 6pm daily and we will provide 100% of the training needed for this position. All we ask is volunteers are:
- Fit to sit and stand frequently throughout the day
- Familiar with basic technology, i.e. phones, computers, printers
- Comfortable communicating via phone and face-to-face in a friendly and professional way
Our office volunteer is often the face (and voice) of our organization! We rely on this person to coordinate appointments, provide information to those who reach out to us, and show compassion in a variety of incredible situations. Most importantly, you will see cats go home to their families every day - the best "responsibility" we can think of. Visit homewardboundcats.org to learn more about us and fill out a volunteer application!

Mission Statement
To maximize feline lifesaving in Las Vegas and beyond by supporting both people and cats.
Description
Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and resources to both cats and people in our community.
As a first priority, we strive to provide counseling, information, and access to services to keep cats in their homes and with the people who love them.
However, if cats cannot stay with their families or in their neighborhoods, we take great pride in providing a safe and caring placement program for cats who need us most. We prioritize our intake on cats most at risk - owned cats in need of rehoming; kittens who need specialized care; and cats who have been abandoned, are sick or injured, or are not thriving in the community.
We are committed to ensuring the highest level of attention and care for cats in accordance with the Five Freedoms of Animal Welfare and industry best practices; where each policy, procedure, and decision is based on compassion, the best available science, and the best interest and welfare of each cat.
We also focus on positively impacting the lives of our volunteers, employees, guests, and community members by cultivating a collaborative environment based on respect and a non-judgmental approach to services.
With a holistic approach to providing the right support to fill resource gaps in our community, keeping cats with those who love them, and caring for and finding appropriate placement for cats that truly need rehoming, Homeward Bound maximizes feline lifesaving and improves the lives of our community’s people and cats.
