  • 11 people are interested

Girl Scouts is a lot of fun, but it’s also a business with a corporate structure. When Juliette Gordon Low founded Girl Scouts, she understood that dedicated and dynamic leaders were vital to helping girls develop their full potential. Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc is led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), a Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers. The combined expertise of these individuals provides the leadership to set the direction of the Council and establish the governance that guides us.

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc is seeking applicants for the Board Development Committee. The Board Development Committee is responsible for the selection, training, and evaluation of the Board of Directors.
This is an elected position. Elections are held at the Annual Meeting each spring. Terms are three years with a committee member serving no more than two consecutive terms beginning at the close of the Annual Meeting.

Description

Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, Inc. (GSHH) was formed in October of 2007 as a result of merging five area Girl Scout councils in the mid and lower Hudson River Valley of New York State. Since the early days of Girl Scouting, Girl Scouts has been providing girls with extraordinary programming throughout the region. Currently, we serve over 20,000 girls in grades K through 12 and 10,000 adult volunteers. In Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson's geographic area, there are over 2,000 troops and groups providing Girl Scout program activities on a regular basis. GSHH is committed to providing Girl Scouting to as many girls as possible in our jurisdiction all year 'round.
