Good Seed is a nonprofit organization that seeks to provide supportive, nurturing and specialized care for young people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. Through temporary housing, comprehensive services and individual planning and placement, Good Seed creates an environment where youth, ages 16-25, can thrive and grow to achieve their full potential. Our aim is to ensure that youth have the tools they need to realize their goals and to become productive, healthy members of the community.
Duties/Expectations: We are looking for volunteers who can work with faith-based organizations to help address social problems in their local community. The volunteers will help with administrative tasks, and support outreach efforts by connecting the community to our organization, and bringing awareness of our services to youth. They must demonstrate advocacy skills to engage and align others in our mission, and are comfortable working with low income and marginalized populations.
· Conduct outreach to community and churches
· Keep track of all organizations and organizations and relay information to Outreach team to be added to CRM
· Build and maintain ongoing relationships with organizations
· Maintain and model culturally sensitive, respectful, and professional demeanor
· Attend and participate in regular meetings with outreach teams and supervisors
Duration: 3-6 months
Qualifications and requirements:
· Must be local to Los Angeles
· Self-motivated and passionate about working in the community
· Organized and detail-oriented
