Challenge Island - Albuquerque North is looking for a volunteer with experience in fundraising and program development. We are a new nonprofit with a very small budget, and we would like to use this time to grow. The ideal volunteer will:
- Identify and build relationships with potential donors.
- Solicit cash or in-kind donations or sponsorships from individual, business, or government donors.
- Develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions.
- Write and send letters of thanks to donors.
- Plan and direct special events for fundraising.
- Recruit sponsors, participants, or volunteers for fundraising events.
- Prepare materials for charitable events, such as fundraising envelopes, bid sheets, or gift bags.
- Create donor databases.
- Develop or implement fundraising activities, such as annual giving campaigns or direct mail programs.
- Direct or coordinate web-based fundraising activities, such as online auctions or donation Web sites.

Challenge Island is a one of a kind educational enrichment program on the cutting edge of educational thought and at the forefront of S.T.E.A.M. education. Children learn teamwork, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills to solve challenges using low tech supplies. As a nonprofit, Challenge Island seeks to serve the neediest populations in order to bring a love of science, technology, engineering, art, and math to more of New Mexico’s children.
