Event Description:
Join City of Raleigh Parks staff as we plant bulbs at Oakwood Commons Park and Tucker House.
Duties:
Volunteers will use hand tools to help plant bulbs in designated areas in the park.
Impact:
Volunteers will be planting bulbs that will bloom to provide a beautiful park aesthetic for patrons.
Work Environment:
We will be working outside, so please dress for the weather! We will be walking between sites, so be prepared to walk about half a mile (total). The ground will be uneven and it has the possibility to get very active in the park so noise could be an issue. There are restrooms on site.
Requirements:
Each volunteer must register through CERVIS. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to participate. All volunteers will need to fill out a volunteer release form.
Other Information:
We will provide tools, gloves, sunscreen, bug spray, and a first aid kit. Volunteers need to wear loose comfortable clothing that can get dirty, and closed-toe shoes. Please bring your own filled water bottle.
COVID-19 Policy:
Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.
- Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
- Individuals must participate in infrared temperature checks upon arrival
