Event Description:
Fall-A-Treat, will be a drive-through look at the Fall/Halloween decorations in the front of the facility in the roundabout. We will give out prepacked approved snacks and candy that will already be bagged up. We will focus on having staff and volunteers dressed up in costumes to have some live characters in our themed visuals. Theme areas will be Graveyard, Ghost World, Pumpkin Ville, and Zombie Land. We will also have decorated car trunks.
Duty Description:
Volunteers will be dressed as characters in different themed areas and will help clean up after the event.
Impact:
Volunteers will help bring a fun, family atmosphere to this event.
Work Environment:
We will be outside, in front of the community center, on the grass, and in parking spots in the round about. Volunteers will be in character. There will be scary music playing throughout. There is a restroom inside the community center.
Volunteer Requirements:
All volunteers must register. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Each volunteer must sign a release form. Those under 18 years of age must have a parent/guardian sign their form.
Other Instructions:
Volunteers may dress up in family-friendly Halloween costumes that are relevant to their area. If you would not like to wear a costume, please dress in all black. Please bring your own water bottle. It may be refilled in the community center. Snacks will be provided.
COVID-19 Policy:
Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.
- Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
- Individuals must participate in infrared temperature checks upon arrival
- Everyone must wear a face mask or face shield (not provided)
- State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
- If you have been out of state two weeks prior to the event, please do not register
Group Registration Information:
Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.
Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
