Direct Care Volunteers have the opportunity to build a relationship with our patients. Direct care volunteers serve in many capacities. For example, direct care volunteers offer companionship to our patients and their families. These volunteers are able to visit patients in their home (personal residence, nursing home, assisted living facility) to provide company, listen to stories, share humor, and bring joy to those facing a life-limiting illness. This is a blessed opportunity to bring joy to those living in a seemingly joyless situation. We are still serving others amidst covid-19.
Direct care volunteers also serve to sit with patients and fulfill all the previous benefits while caregivers are able to run errands, go to appointments, or just get a break. This is a blessed experience because while we are able to bring joy to our patients, we are also able meet a major need for caregivers.
Patients love receiving visits from the volunteer. They love having someone take interest in them and hearing their stories. This is a wonderful experience for the volunteer as well. It is well worth the few hours a month to bring indescribable joy to others. If you are ready to be a bring joy to others, please contact me.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to honor life and offer compassion to individuals and their caregivers when facing a life-limiting illness.
Description
We see each individual as more than a patient. Our skilled professionals and volunteers design an all-encompassing program, customized to each patient that addresses not only the physical needs but also the emotional and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Counseling and education about disease management and the dying process are provided to the family unit in conjunction with patient care.
Our hospice philosophy includes an individualized course of treatment based on the patient’s wishes, the family’s needs and the complex array of medical, emotional and social issues which accompany a terminal diagnosis. Our service offerings include access to a network of community resources specifically arranged to provide comfort, reduce anxiety and allow quality time to be spent with the loved one.
