Tuck-In Call Volunteer

Encompass Health is looking for a volunteer to provide weekly tuck-in calls. These calls are performed on Wednesday's or Thursdays, either from home or at our main office, and take a couple hours each week. These calls are to check that caregivers and patients have all the supplies and medications they need to get through the weekend. These calls are incredibly beneficial to our families and to our staff as they can prevent patients from running out of supplies and unnecessary overnight/weekend calls.
The right fit for this position would be comfortable speaking on the phone, have great customer service skills, be comfortable taking messages that would be relayed to other staff, and be capable of redirecting or keeping conversations brief as we have about 60 patients to call.

Description
Encompass Health is looking for administrative and direct patient care volunteers to provide companionship to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do.
A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
We are also interested in volunteers who could perform music, direct art therapy, and much more. The opportunities for volunteers are nearly endless.
