Sea Save Foundation is committed to advocate for ocean conservation changes. We analyze public issues within the United States and around the world, create strategies, and drive public advocates to decision-makers.

We work on a wide variety of important issues, from endangered species protection, shark finning, curbing plastic pollution and other issues critical to ocean health. Our campaigns challenge decision-makers to vote for ocean-friendly policies and laws.

We’re seeking a top-notch candidate to help oversee our online advocacy campaigns. This individual would preferably have advocacy writing experience. Another plus would be somone familiar with online advocacy tools such as Change.org, Phone2Action, Salsa Labs or similar.

The perfect candidate has advocacy experience, is a good writer, likes research and is hungry to make a difference.


Work with Director and Assistant Director:

• Research bills or issues
• Using our online tool to: create email, twitter, and telephone campaigns
• Write copy for campaign e-mail template to be sent to decision-makers
• Brainstorm and schedule promotions and awareness messages that will drive the public to the advocacy tool
• Project management, writing skills are critical. You should be able to work well with our team. The ideal candidate wants to make the world a better place

Qualifications

Qualified applicants need to be goal-driven and sharp, with great problem-solving skills. Applicants must be detail-oriented and highly organized, with a friendly and professional demeanor and the maturity to manage confidential and/or sensitive information. They have an outstanding work ethic, while being flexible enough to pivot to prioritize whatever projects are most timely & important. Finally, the successful applicant must be able to deliver high-quality results.

The perfect candidate for this position has advocacy experience with a nonprofit or political organization.
