Join us this holiday season writing letters for FareStart meal recipients!
About FareStart: At FareStart, we help people overcome barriers to employment by teaching them work and life skills they need to succeed in the foodservice industry - and in life. FareStart transforms lives, disrupts poverty and nourishes communities through food, life skills and job training.
Overview of Opportunity: Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, FareStart has vastly expanded our meal production- creating between 5,000-7,000 meals a day for local homeless shelters, non-profits, senior facilities, schools and more. Including letters in our meals helps bring additional joy to our recipients, many of which are high risk and isolated in their facilities due to the pandemic.
Instructions: Sign up individually or as a team here! This opportunity can be done individually or collaboratively via online meeting software. Volunteers will write and decorate notes that will be incorporated into FareStart meals. Make sure to track your hours in your volunteer profile.
Supplies Needed:
* Paper, single sided or folded into card (must be 4x6in or smaller)
* Writing utensils: pens, markers, pencil, crayon, etc.
* Optional decorations: Get creative! Markers to draw, stickers, paint, etc.
Template wording: Keep cards positive, inspirational and general so that they can be incorporated into any meal. Include FareStart as a part of the message! Food themes are always welcome. For consistency, sign all letters from "FareStart Community, [your (first) name and/or organization]"
