Please join us at Flanner House farm to assist us in our end of season projects!

In order to start off on the right foot next year and ensure a bountiful season, we will be working on final harvests, collecting irrigation lines, planting winter crops, and amending raised beds. No experience needed, no heavy lifting. For the most part, we are on our feet or bending occasionally.

All you need is a water bottle, a pair of gloves, and closed-toe shoes!

We will be holding an open garden on October 24th to connect community members to our farmers and volunteers! Please come through!

We accept volunteers Monday through Friday from 10am-2pm

Hope to see you soon!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to support, advocate for and empower individuals, children, and families by applying educational, social, and economic resources that move members of the community towards stabilization, and self-sufficiency. For 119 years, Flanner House of Indianapolis has been at the epicenter of helping people move to a place of self-reliance and self-sufficiency. We are honored and humbled to continue in this historic position of leadership as we strive for improving the quality of life for residents on the Northwest side of Indianapolis. Focusing on Education, Employment, Wellness, Peace and Safety, Economic Development, and Food Justice, Flanner House is prepared to serve the evolving needs of our area residents.

Description

The Flanner House Food Justice initiatives seek to rebirth and maintain our long tradition of providing equitable food access to marginalized communities in the largest food desert in Indianapolis. Food Justice is the belief that everyone in our community should have access to healthy, affordable, culturally appropriate and locally grown food. We envision a food system on the northwest side with the capacity to address the food insecurity and access needs of all residents in our service area and beyond.
